Welcome to the "unofficial" website of the Mendota Rail Museum. This site will compliment the museum's official website where you will find more detailed info.  Here I will give you a brief tour of the museum and the work that has gone into making it what it is today. We have a wonderful and classy museum and Amtrak station which has been restored to house both. Our depot grounds include three blocks in which acquisitions on display can be seen on this website.
The restoration of the depot began in 1995 and was completed in the summer of 1997. I hope you can come visit us someday and enjoy the many railroad artifacts and displays we have. We believe in preserving as much railroading history as we can and that will continue to be our goal in the future.                                   Ray Tutaj Jr.
